2015 Fasting and Prayer Guide

“The purpose of fasting is to loosen to some degree the ties which bind us to the world of material things and our surroundings as a whole, in order that we may concentrate all our spiritual powers upon the unseen and eternal things.” ~ Ole Hallesby

Greetings friends and happy new year! Praise God who has led and blessed us throughout 2015, and I pray that God will continue to bless you and your loved ones.

As we start the new year, God has placed such a burden on my heart for our church. We are growing by every measurable tool, but God is saying He wants to do even greater things to glorify His name through us. One of those greater things is the start of our new LIFE Groups Jan. 8th. Should we do this well, it has the potential to grow mature followers of Jesus, stronger relationships and more impactful reach in ministry to those around us. It will take sacrifice, commitment, time and much prayer, but I’m sure we are on the right course.

For this reason I’m calling our church to fast and pray the first full week of the new year, Jan. 4-9. Fast breakfast and lunches and join me as we imbed ourselves in Scripture and pray for our church, families and world. Join us for community prayer Wednesday evening, Jan 6th at 7:30pm, and Saturday morning, Jan 9th at 7am. To assist you in your prayers, on the other side, are some suggested prayer topics for each day. As we start the new year committing our ways to Jesus, I pray that we will become even more beautiful vessels of His grace for one another and the world!

With great joy,

Pastor Jonathan
